Eden Cane (early Yamame) 2/1 3wt Rod

This is a used Eden Cane  7', 2/1 (originally 2/2), 3wt rod, numbered #2104 with original custom partitioned cordura tube.

The rod was produced by Bernard Ramanauskas during his Eden Cane-era and appears to be an early example of his  Yamame series. This series was originally designed for Japanese Yamame (Cherry Salmon) fishing. The soft tip is ideal for making effortless short casts, yet the mild butt swell retains enough power to make it a good all-round rod for eastern Brook trout creeks and smaller fish in high elevation streams.

The rod features Bernard's highly-regarded nodeless blonde cane construction and a fine 5 ½” straight-shaped cork grip characteristic of his rods. The reel seat is a unique blued uplocking/downlocking (has dual, end and grip-recessed caps) slide band reel seat over cork spacer with bamboo inlays. The cork grip is finished on each end with blued nickel-silver checks. Other hardware includes blued snake guides, tip tops and truncated nickel silver ferrules and an opaque white/cream banded agate stripper. Wraps are colorless transparent silk with Bernard's signature single red centered ornamental wrap. Includes original Eden Cane cordura covered tube with integrated rod compartments.

The sections are straight and ferrule fit is nice and snug. Varnish appears in very good condition. As stated, the rod is used, but sparingly so and only shows light grip soiling. Unfortunately a second tip was broken on a large fish during use.

The rod weighs 2 7/10 oz. Rod listing posted for local Trout Bum. If interested, I will get you in contact to discuss sale.

Eden Cane 7011 2/2 4wt Rod

This is a used Eden Cane model 7011 7', 2/2, 4wt rod with original custom partitioned cordura tube.

The model 7011 rod was produced by Bernard Ramanauskas during his Eden Cane-era, which predates his work for Scott or his work under the Freestone banner. This model sports a long-tapered swelled butt and fine, book matched tips making this a pure dry-fly rod with an extremely nice, crisp and brilliant action.

The rod features Bernard's highly-regarded nodeless blonde cane construction and a fine 6” straight-shaped cork grip characteristic of his rods. The reel seat is blued uplocking slide band reel seat over fine mortised burl wood spacer. The cork grip is finished on each end with elegant burled wood/blued nickel-silver checks. Other hardware includes blued hook keeper, snake guides, tip tops and truncated nickel silver ferrules and a fine tan agate stripper. Wraps are tan transparent silk with Bernard's signature single red trim wraps. Includes original Eden Cane cordura covered tube with integrated rod compartments.

The sections are straight and ferrule fit is nice and snug. Varnish appears in very good condition. As stated, the rod is used and shows light grip soiling and some light marring on the reel seat spacer from the slide band and reel foot indicating use. The rod weighs 3 1/8 oz. Rod listing posted for local Trout Bum. If interested, I will get you in contact to discuss sale.

Goodwin Granger 9053 Victory Project Rod

This is a Goodwin Granger 9053 (as measured as #19 mid and #13 tip ferrules) Victory 9' 3pc 2 tip rod with non original sock and no tube.

Bad news is one tip is several inches short, but the butt, mid and other tip are full length and straight. The cane appears nice and sound with no obvious delamination or hook digs. Script intact on butt section. The cork grip is glossy and would need to be cleaned or replaced. Nickel silver reel seat is in good condition and works fine and will clean up nicely. I am offering this as a consignment project rod as it should get a strip down restoration. All guides original (except the replacement tip top on the short tip). Ferrule fit is good however, the mid-section male and female ferrules need to be reset as a slight click is felt.

Heddon #17 9' #2-1/2f Project/Parts Rod

This is a Heddon #17 9' #2-1/2 ferrule 3pc 2 tip rod with original fiber tube and rod sock.

Offering this as a consignment parts/project rod as it requires a complete restoration. The cane appears nice and sound with no obvious delamination or hook digs and with complete script preserved on butt section. Main issue is the male ferrule of the mid section has been cleanly broken as was/is common with these rods. All ferrules are included. Also, the grip is damaged and will need to be replaced. On the positive side, the tips are full length and the reel seat is in exceptionally good condition. The original sock is also remarkably good, but the fiber tube is missing top and bottom caps.

This is a Heddon #14 Thorobred 9' #2 ferrule 3pc 2 tip rod with original fiber tube and rod sock.

Offering this as a consignment rod requiring some restoration as wraps are just starting to dry out. Overall, varnish is decent. The cane appears nice and sound with no obvious delamination or hook digs and with complete script preserved on butt section including "Thorobred" model (not shown in pics). Main issue is the male ferrule of the mid section has been cleanly broken in the past (as was/is common with these rods) and has been repaired with non-original silk thread. Tips full length. The grip and reel seat are decent and fishable as is. The original sock is included and has a small hole in the bottom requiring stitching. The original fiber tube is missing top and bottom caps.

Stimson & Lambuth Rare Spiral Cane Rod

This is a rare 2pc spiral cane rod by Stimson and Lambuth #24 presumably built in 1940 (see pics). This cane rod features a unique and unusual spiral construction where the maker twisted the rod blank 1/6th turn between guides. Unfortunately the butt section (measuring 54-3/4") is not the same and the tip (measuring 34- 1/4"). I would guess the rod was not made that way, but that the tip was broken in the distant past. Also, one guide is missing on the tip section and some intermediate wraps are damaged. I am offering this rod to anyone interested in studying the spiral cane that Letcher Lambuth was characteristically and uniquely known to produce during the past history of rodmaking.
