D. Stone Heddon Featherweight Bamboo Rod Kit
Offered here is a complete build kit for a 7', 2/2, bamboo rod based on the classic Heddon 7’ 2pc. Featherweight 0-1/2 ferrule taper expertly crafted by Dennis Stone. The blank shows the distinct swelled butt of the Featherweight line (first introduced in 1939) and is classically dark toned with blackened ferrules as per Heddon rods.
Included in this kit is a preformed AAAA cigar cork grip that can be shaped to mimic the grip used by Heddon in these diminutive rods. The reel seat is a lightweight black aluminum down-locking reel seat with circassian walnut spacer (genuine Bellinger brand). Other hardware includes a beautiful nickel framed red agate stripping guide, black nickel winding check, black nickel double-foot snake brand guides with matching tip tops (already installed by D. Stone) and a blackened fixed-loop hook keeper. Also included is an original Stone Rod Co. rod sock. I also have numerous silk threads and can include a spool with this package. My initial intent was to wrap the rod in color-preserved antique gold, tipped forest green as per the Heddon model #50 Deluxe President, but lately I was leaning more towards my own take on the model #17 Black Beauty with black main wraps tipped deep red (not orange as per Heddon) for richness.

Tim Zietak Perfectionist Quad Bamboo Rod Kit
Offered here is a complete build kit for a 7'6", 2/2, 4wt quadrate (4-sided) bamboo rod based on the classic Paul H. Young Perfectionist taper expertly crafted by Tim Zietak. I had built out one of these rods years ago (see top 2 pics below) and have regretted selling it since. In hand, Tim's quadrate rendition of P.H. Young's Perfectionist is not slow, but rather bright and lively 4wt with good backbone to land larger fish.
Included in this kit is a preformed AAAA half-wells cork grip, a beautiful java/dark honey agate stripping guide in black nickel frame, black nickel double-foot snake brand guides with matching tip top and a ring and strap hook keeper. The kit comes with rod sock and your choice of reel seat: 1) a black aluminum down-locking reel seat with walnut spacer reminiscent of those found on some P.H. Young rods, 2) a genuine Bellinger black nickel slide-band reel seat with circassian walnut spacer, or 3) a genuine Bellinger black nickel slide-band reel seat with standard English walnut spacer (all 3 options shown below). CTS Fiberglass Rod Project Kit
I am offering a complete rod build kit for an 8'8" 8wt CTS Quartz fiberglass rod. I was going to build this for pike and other burly warm-water fishes, but unfortunately I ran out of time on this one.
The rod blank is a CTS Quartz s-glass blank in seaweed color ordered directly from CTS a few years ago. It is pre-marked for spine. Also included in this kit is a preformed thin full-wells AAAA cork grip with in-letting for a Lemke LC25 black nickel double uplocking real seat with bright spalted maple wood filler and fixed cork fighting butt (all from Custom Fly Rod Crafters). Also includes dual black nickel stripping guides, black nickel double-foot snake brand guides with matching tip top and a black nickel folding hook keeper. I also have numerous silk threads and can include a spool with this package. My intent was to wrap the guides in dark translucent olive silk possibly tipped in black, but you do you.

RW Lee Handmade Reel Seats
I have several down-sliding and one down-locking reel seats made for order by Ray W. Lee. These are brand new seats I ordered some time ago for future projects. Heddon #14 Thorobred 9' #2f Project Rod
This is a Heddon #14 Thorobred 9' #2 ferrule 3pc 2 tip rod with original fiber tube and rod sock.
Offering this as a consignment rod requiring some restoration as wraps are just starting to dry out. Overall, varnish is decent. The cane appears nice and sound with no obvious delamination or hook digs and with complete script preserved on butt section including "Thorobred" model (not shown in pics). Main issue is the male ferrule of the mid section has been cleanly broken in the past (as was/is common with these rods) and has been repaired with non-original silk thread. Tips full length. The grip and reel seat are decent and fishable as is. The original sock is included and has a small hole in the bottom requiring stitching. The original fiber tube is missing top and bottom caps.

Canadian Hurricane Fly Reel
Vintage single action fly reel with drag adjustment screw model #440.
This same reel was sold in the US by Sears Robuck ( as Model 6 31522) and (Olympic brand Model 440). The reel spool is 13/16" wide. Reel diameter is 3-5/8".
Similar in some respects to vintage South Bend Finalist 1144/1155 reels.
All original reel in near perfect condition with slightest wear. Clean inside and out and functions smooth. This reel would suite longer vintage bamboo rods in the 8-1/2' to 9' range.
